Fully lined, hand finished in England, and with a beautiful “hand,” our pure silk tie features images from the enigmatic Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts events leading up to the Norman Conquest. Why enigmatic? Here are some of the unanswered questions about the embroidered cloth:  Who commissioned it? Why was it commissioned? How was it embroidered? Who was its intended audience? Made in 11th century, but first recorded in the inventory of the Bayeux Cathedral in 1476, its whereabouts in the intervening years is unknown. Our tie borrows dramatically beautiful images from the tapestry. (The colors of the tie are a deep ochre, dark green, black, and a dark crimson, which play well against the cream background.)

Length 58”; 3.25 inches at the blade.
