Bullet Space Pen
This pen is made by the same company and uses the same technology as the Astronaut Space Pen tested for two years by NASA and used by astronauts on the Apollo 7 space mission in 1969 (and used on all manned space flights since then). The difference between this pen and the original is the design. The Bullet Space Pen has been cited as an outstanding example of industrial design, is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, and is often cited as the most popular pen of the twentieth century.
Due to the patented sealed and pressurized ink cartridge, the pen writes in just about any condition and on almost any surface: underwater or over grease; in extreme temperatures (-30 to +250 F/-35 to +121 C); upside down or floating in a gravity-free zone. The ink cartridge lasts three times longer than the average pen with an estimated 100-year shelf life.
When closed, the Bullet Space Pen is the perfect size to carry in a wallet, pocket, purse, glove compartment, organizer, or toolbox. When open, it's a full sized, evenly balanced writing instrument. It has an all-brass construction with a black-matte finish and comes with an optional black-matte clip that slides on the pen. The cap slides on and off. The pen includes a cartridge with black ink and a medium point. It is made in the USA.
The pen is packaged in a sturdy gift box with a removable sleeve commemorating the Apollo 7 mission.
Size: 3.75" when closed; 5.25” when open and the cap slipped on to the body of the pen.
