You may not have access to the water that flows through an ancient aqueduct—said to be the key to Rome’s unparalleled coffee—but you can easily make a superior brew at home with this Italian espresso set. Made by Bialetti, a heritage company in business for more than a century, this espresso maker is easy to use on a gas, electric, or induction stove.

Best of all, it’s a simple machine without any electronics. Simply fill the bottom chamber with water (up to the valve), pack the filter with ground espresso (included), screw on the platform, and set on the stovetop. A few minutes later, delicious espresso will drip from the spouts directly into the two cups provided. Please note that the cups will be very hot immediately after brewing. 

Bialetti was founded in 1919, in a small hamlet in Piedmont, Italy. It included a foundry and a workshop for the study, design, and creation of manufactured products. In 1933, founder Alfonso Bialetti invented a revolutionary way of making coffee at home: the now iconic moka pot. Our set includes a charming variation of the moka pot that allows you to watch the cups fill, drop by drop.

The cups are handleless, with a smart matte black finish and the Bialetti logo—l’omino con i baffi (“the little man with the mustache”)—printed on each.

We’ve included a pound of Bialetti’s traditional medium-roast ground espresso, made with 100% Colombia Excelso beans. Bialetti has perfected a unique process of roasting and grinding the beans. Beans are roasted a longer-than-average time to allow for all aromas and flavors in the coffee to bloom, and a unique grinding level has been specifically chosen to extract a full-bodied but creamy and intense flavor at each brewing.
