This game is a twist on the classic pick-up sticks, perfect for two to four players ages three and up.

A roll of the die determines what color stick must be ever so carefully removed from the bunch. As each stick is removed, the balancing hedgehog will become more and more unsteady, and when it drops, the game is over.

And there’s an extra prickle! If the die lands on the hedgehog icon, a player can invent a rule for the next player to follow on their turn. Something like “Keep one eye closed” or “Sing a song” perhaps—it’s totally up to them.

Games are a wonderful way for children to learn the values of patience, focus, winning and losing with grace, and how to play with others. This game develops fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and an understanding of cause and effect.
