The New York Review of Books Zippered Bookbag is the perfect tote for everyday use. Like a well-organized closet, the design is carefully thought-out and flexible.

Standout features:

  • stylish black poly-canvas, available with red or black logo;
  • at 16" w x 14" h, with a 5.5" bottom gusset, the bag can accommodate most laptops, a book, and some sundries;
  • a 7" x 10" interior side pocket with a zipper can securely house a phone, passport, or similarly sized item;
  • the handle, made of 1.5" wide cotton webbing straps with a 10" drop, is calibrated for comfort;
  • the black poly-canvas fabric is water-resistant and more substantial than the cotton canvas commonly used for totes.

And as a subtle reminder not to forget to take along the current issue, the logo of The New York Review of Books is embroidered on one side (in a subtle size—no billboard).

The bags are made in the US by a third-generation family firm that, since 1919, has specialized in the custom manufacturing of sewn textile products. A vertical approach to manufacturing enables them to control every aspect of production. The company has also produced custom bags for the Tribeca Film Festival, Dean & Deluca, Patagonia, marthastewart.com, and a wide variety of companies both large and—like us—small.
