One of our editors came across these delightful socks when visiting the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. We've found them to be a cheerful addition to our shop (and our feet).

Starry Night, Almond Blossom, and Sunflowers

Almond Blossoms is part of a group of paintings created in 1888 and 1890 in Arles and Saint-Rémy in southern France. Flowering trees were something special for van Gogh. They represented new beginnings and hope. He enjoyed their aesthetics and found joy in painting flowering trees.

Starry Night was inspired by the view from van Gogh's window at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy, in southern France.

Van Gogh's paintings of sunflowers are among his most famous works. He painted them in 1888 and 1889 in Arles, in the south of France. Vincent painted a total of five large canvases of sunflowers in a vase, using three shades of yellow "and nothing else". In this way he demonstrated that it is possible to create a painting with numerous variations of a single color without losing eloquence.
